What should happen to our public forests?
The forests in the UK are precious resources. Socially they provide a haven for us to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Environmentally they are home to rare wildlife and unique biodiversity in the UK.
Currently we are fortunate enough that our government own and manage these forests and protect the land. They maintain the forest, host events and develop the much needed outdoor activities that we enjoy.
Today the status of our forests is being reviewed. The government have proposed to sell off our forests. If this happens, developers will buy up the land, houses and new towns are likely to be built and our loved forests will no longer be free for us to enjoy.
Various campaigns and protests have been set up to save the forests, individually and across the UK, now we just have to wait and see…
(I have all my fingers crossed)
