The ones to watch out for this year: ISO20121 and GRI EOSS

This year two of the biggest developments in the event sustainability industry will be coming out for public comment, ISO20121 and the GRI EOSS.

The public comment period will give you the opportunity to have your say on both of these developments – so what are they?

ISO20121 is the International Standard for Sustainable Event Management.
This has been developed by 30 countries around the world and has taken BS 8901 the British Standard for Sustainable Event Management as it’s starting draft.

The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) provide a framework for writing a sustainability report.
The Event Organiser Sector Supplement (EOSS) has been developed by leading industry specialists to support the development of reporting on sustainability in the event industry.

Both of these frameworks will complement each other and support the development of sustainability in the event industry.
